Hi Everyone,Any ideas,(R 1100 S) Sluggish acceleration from 1st gear, once it gets going its fine, only had it a few months and must have stalled it about 5 times at the lights,is this normal for one of these ?would have thought it had more power than that for a 1100cc,its a 2003 model with only 24,000 on it,in mint condition, cheers.

where are you? perhaps a local Trixter could have a wee blast on your bike and hopefully put your mind at rest, it's possibly just you're not used to the bike yet?

+1 on what Rob said
Also it could be the TPS is out of sync

+1 on the TPS
Throttle bodies may need syncing
Tick over to low can cause stalling but not lack of power

I did find that the transition from a higher revving bike to the R1100s made me stall it more than once, which isn't pleasant with short legs. The S doesn't stall elegantly and lurches to a full stop!
Get the TBs balanced, once its rolling it should take off quite rapidly in first gear.

Is the cat still fitted ,? I felt mine was a lot better after fitting a Y piece, although all the advice offered already may improve things also.
