Insurers - a Rant

Rang Swinton 3 weeks ago to tee up acquiring the 100RS and disposing of the 1150RS. Agreed a single change fee of £25, and Aviva said no change in premium.

Acquired 100RS two weeks ago, rang Swinton, Aviva now want to charge £33 to add the 100RS, but are willing to refund a princely £16 for the remaining 8 months on the 1150RS, when I sell it - expected within a week or two.

Today I sell the 1150RS, ring Swinton and guess what - no refund from Aviva for the remaining 8 months.

I know it's only £16 (or £33), but it's the outrageous levering of Aviva's position that annoys me. Why not tell the truth from the start? Next time I'll make a detailed note of the call and demand that they run the tape.

To cap it all, the Swinton person then wastes another 5 minutes of my day trying to sell me all sorts of insurance products which I either have already or I'm plainly not interested in buying - hadn't he been listening for the last 10 minutes?

At least Swinton didn't go back on their word...

Grrrrrrr

Changed from Swinton.
This years renewal £100 for policy and £86 for things i didnt want or need, despite a phone conversation saying just that.
Got it all sorted online from just bikes for £88. No bells or whistles, just a certificate.
