Just after I bought mine based on the last recommendation work supplied me with the latest generation of Ipad. The blackberry operating system is far superior imho, much more intuitive.
As a games machine the Ipad wins out, simply because that is where the developers focus their efforts, as a business tool the playbook wins. Far easier to file documents and it is compatible with Microsoft Office.
If you are looking for a cheap simple tablet and don't want to follow the crowd I would go for the playbook if you can still find one.

and hopefully within the next few months RIM are going to roll out the promised BB10 OS to it which is apparently awesomeHerb wrote:Just after I bought mine based on the last recommendation work supplied me with the latest generation of Ipad. I've got 26 games on mine, some of the Gameloft ones in all fairness are close to my Xbox 360 for quality, in particular the Modern Combat ones, and were only 2 or 3 quid. EA Monopoly is a good time waster too

I tend not to use either machine for games to be honest. The only game I really played on the playbook was Shadowgun, and then only cos it was free. (Good though)
Presumably BB10 will still allow the android software to run over the top? Android apps can be used on the playbook. Its a bit of a faf getting them on there, but if there is a particular android app you want / need then its worth doing. I put dropbox and kindle on mine.

I've gotten quite slick at dropping the android apps on now, using DDPB Installer to transfer and http://apk2bar.unker.net/ to convert the apk's into bar's ...
So far I've put a few on the one I'd REALLY like to work is the GS911 one but it doesn't work sadly, no big deal as my Nokia has the software on it anyway.
I was really impressed that it allows my Nokia N8 to tether to it for web connectivity via bluetooth when wifi's not available
