I noticed discolouration of the brake discs when used in anger. The pads is the stock BMW supplied parts which is going to be replaced before the next track day.
What worries me is this signs of the metal going soft or is there some other damage I should worry about? What brake pads is best for repeated abuse and I mean abuse (I have to make up the time on the brakes and corner speed to keep up with the big boys)? I did not suffer any brake fade for the duration of the day, actually the feel improved when the brakes were hot and the power improved (by that I mean the bite on the brakes not the lever travel).

'Let me check my concernometer.'
Mine go the same when used in anger .... like last Saturday while (late) overtaking Barney on his B-King going into a right hand sweeper near Bala
It's never bothered me before I just accept that's how they go, along with the tyres getting a faint blue tinge to them a few days later
