A few of you know i just MOT'D the black bitch well a week or so later i recieved a letter from the DVLA saying the bike had the wrong frame number? so i had to fill in a form putting down the frame number from the bike not the log book now i knew the frame number is right as i'm not such a muppet not to check before purchase.
The frame number put down by the MOT man was wrong not the bike or log book he had added a 5 to the end.
I filled in the form sent it off a week another letter arrived from the DVLA saying i had not replied to their letter and that i must reply to this letter or the MOT TAX and registration would not be valid
Fuming i rang them up the woman that had sent the letter was not available [what a suprise] after approximatly an hour on the phone they admitted they had recieved the form back but as i had not replied within 3 weeks they had sent out the other letter when i pointed out the date of the MOT was not 3 weeks previous to this phone call so that was bull s#it
in the end the woman on the phone appologised and said they would issue a new MOT result or so i thought still nothing has come through the door in the way of an MOT but another letter asking me to fill in another form has.
So thats the R1100S with a marker on it, not to worry i'll tax the harley now the harley passed HPI check and also comes up clean on DVLA web site vehicle check again all numbers check out fine even the MOT has the right frame number on it
So i go on line to the DVLA web site put in all the relavent details guess what? when i fill in the first page then press next it says they have no record of it!!!!!!!!!!
It can't be taxed at a post office as my insurance docs are online and they can't do an electronic check
It's not just me talking to a mate today he has a Victory 8 ball and is having trouble insuring it he has had the bike from new and insured it previously with no problem but it turns out that when the insurance company's do a vehicle check it comes back as 2200cc not 1700 that it is, now this is where it gets wierd it has 1700 on the logbook but do a DVLA vehicle check it says 2200cc
Is this how the goverment are going to get us off the road i wonder? make it impossible to pass a bike test then cock up all the motorcycle records at the DVLA offices
Sorry folks rant over back to helpfull mode Dai
