Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Yeah yeah but a HID equipped car or bike makes it easier to see in the dark-and lights further.......or is that just me???

Would'nt be without mine either, both head and dip. What he has to say about a pool of light in front of the bike giving the eyes a lot of contrast to deal with rings a bell tho. Some gr8 music on BBC 4 at the mo BTW.

Headlights on, then high viz clothing then move to hid bulbs. Its all right until everyone's using it then you,re back to square one, lost in a sea of people who don,t look or look and pull out anyway because my vehicles safer than yours. If they all drove glass cars they would have a different mind set.

And why MAG have been campaining to try and stop Cars having DRL(Daytime Running Lights), as you say when everything has lights on, we motorcyclists disappear.

The Interesting thing about aftermarket HID is that people everywhere tell you its illegal. I spoke to an MOT tester just a few weeks back who went through the manual for me, nothing in it yet specific to HID, but a vehicle will fail if the beam pattern is significantly out, so may depend on how accurate the testers equipment is.

Im not really a fan of the "Pretend Police bike Clan", but I have to say when I do wear my HI-Viz waistcoat a lot of Cars do seem to respond quite differently.

Tim, I myself am considering buying a 'Hi-Viz' waiscoat and joining the "Pretend Police bike Clan" on account of it might prevent my involuntary membership of the "Actually quite seriously injured Clan".

Try riding a big silver touring bike with a white helmet and hi-viz on!

Less speeding around me, and I do think it makers a big difference to how your noticed/respected on the road.

Think a proper hi-viz jacket and maybe some reflective checks on a white helmet is as far as I would go though..... no yellow and blue bikes. :?

Can't say i have noticed them

Back on subject the black bitch went for it's mot today failed as the horn has decided it will no longer work
As i said back on subject the lighting test it passed with flying colours the cut off was right where it was ment to be even the spot of main beam [not HID] was in exactly the right position in relation to the dip this was all new to me i had never seen a rolling road brake test or a headlamp checking machine before for bike MOT's

Oh well back to the head scratching with the horn i thought i must have missed it when i did the pre mot last week but Ann came home and said it did work as she came out thinking i wanted something when she heard it
Got power to the relay so it must be a fault between the relay and the horn hopefully the snow will be gone tomorrow and i will get it back together and down for the retest
My bike shines when it rains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our dipped beam is the projector, isn't it? - which is fine for HID conversion, IMHO.

Also fine for conversion, generally, are headlights with clear lenses, where all the focusing is done by the reflector.

I generally wouldn't fit HIDs to anything that's a refractor, though.

I also wouldn't fit an HID to a separate main-beam, as they're useless for 'flashing'. If you have a combined dip / main, then a proper bi-xenon setup where the main / dip is controlled by a shutter, that's fine, though.
Fucked Off!
