My bike is still in mothballs for winter but before I parked it up I removed all the brake pads to stop them sticking to and rusting the discs and noticed that there getting a bit thin-especially the rears.

So recommendations for front and rears for R12S?? I find the pads I have at the moment to be fine -but I don't know what they are (probably original as bike only has 10k!)

I had a look at Brembo pads but couldn't work out what the SA, CC and SC meant?
SC sintered compound
CC Carbon ceramic?
SA??i

And what are the differences between them?? Is there a brake pads for dummies somewhere??

Bit like tyres if you ask me, everyone has something different that suits their riding style,
Me? I like sintered EBCs, those and braided hoses have enough power for stoppies if required
Am sure I have also said before, DON'T get Goldfrens, like wooded blocks as far as I'm concerned, but then someone will probably like them

I fitted SBS hs front pads to my S . I can recommend them. Good stopping power, great feel . When you have the pads out of the calliper ease the pistons out a bit and give them a good clean with brake cleaner. Use a soft small brush to remove all baked on crud. You want all the pistons to move freely.

For last couple of years I have been running Carbon Lorraine pads, from Crossan MC's of the famous Visor Shop http://www.thevisorshop.com/acatalog/Brake_Pads.html as the first set were a step up in feel, great in all weathers, yet they don't seem to take material off the discs.

In fact I oredred another set today for my S (£60 incl P&P for 3 calipers worth) I replaced all three discs at around 40k and don't want to do it again...using A3 series on the front, and RX on the rear brake.
