Rocker Cover Bolts

Wheels and Rocker covers are going in for the all-black paint job tomorrow.

Has anyone managed to separate the rocker cover bolts/rubbers from the rocker cover? I think they should drift out but on initial inspection it seems like the rubber sleeve expands and prevents the assembly from moving - I don't want to break anything else.

Cheers

Julian - still working with a heat gun to removing the brake disk bolts form he wheels and washing the rocker covers in the sink  The poor S is so stripped bare it looks like a turkey carcass on Boxing Day.

Yip..

Yip....from my rubbish memory.......what was it you asked again??

The rubbers do come off....quite easily...from the inside of the rocker cover. Don't have it to hand but I had to replace my rocker covers and the rubbers came out quite easily....trying to think how I did it now.....Try pulling them from inside the cover and 'gently' pry the outside portion with a small screw driver and they should just pop out. Mine did and I used them again to put the new rocker covers on and they were just fine

Doh! Did it with my fingertips.
