I'm wondering; If I 'lost' a few toes, would I qualify under the rules of the scheme? I mean it's the only way I can see that I'll ever get to own a £19,000 HP4. And I am fookin desperate

Talk to a management consultant: they'll convince you that it's in your interest to restructure your body/lose a leg:
You don't use it for anything that can't be done with a prosthetic.
Cost savings on shoes, socks etc.
The awkwardness of the prosthetic will cut down on unnecessary walking trips e.g. getting up and having a look out the window.
Cost of road tax = zip.
Use of disabled parking bays cuts down time/cost spent looking for parking bays/paying for parking/walking from distant parking bays.
Unbelievably cheap vehicle purchase scheme (favoured by people who have crippled themselves with lifestyle choices e.g. smoking and gorging) provides enormous cost saving.
Initial cost of proposal (time off sick, counselling, bandages, disposal of leg etc.) will be recouped by year 3, with projected savings thereafter.

You will have an opportunity to put forward your views, but don't expect that simply crying and saying "good god, what world do you people live in, can't you see this is fundamentally mad!" is going to look at all good against a glossy bound management-speak-bar-graph report from an Audi driver. I was one of the last lucky one's pensioned off on ill health, i'm sure today they would have found a way to sack me [not fulfilling contract or something simular]
As it was in the two years[no benifits as your still tecnicaly employed] or so it took to get my pension, [that i had paid for] i had to see the works doctor about a dozen times i was lucky my works doctor used to work for my consultant and said if he say's you will never be able to work again who am i to argue.
I thought everything would work out better than it did, now i dont know my way round the benifit system so i get nothing from them no help with councill tax nothing nada not a bl00dy penny, no blue disabled parking badge [you dont qualify sir your not on benifits]FFS
I know there are lot's out there who are worse off than me!
The system we have paid into for years doesn't work for us, it's getting milked dry by people that have never put in a penny

O,K it works for some that have paid in my brother in law recently went blind he recieves a pittance in benifits and his other half is driving around in a brand new car
Their house has dry rot they applied to the councill for a grant councill said yes they would cover the cost of the work my brother in law would have to pay for accomodation during this time [sounds good so far]
Then the councill changed their mind i believe the latest figure is £12,000 to be paid for by my brother in law this is money they haven't got and can't raise due to the house being mortgaged up to the hilt and stands in negative equety[spelling]
The latest in this saga is the councill are saying the work has to be done as it could infect other houses in the street
Their next door neighbour had a full grant for dry rot a few years ago and this has just been done again within ten years it was during this last lot of work being done on the neighbours house that it showed in theirs.
