Leaving the fold.

Post by CC Mac 2 »

After 10 years of 1100S ownership and 68000 miles on the clock, I got the itch and bought another bike. As BMW don't really make a decent newer version of the 1100S with the same qualities but better I decided to try something different. I got a good price (£1500) for my black 1999 bike, but it was in very good condition with some nice upgrades on it.
I bought a one year old Guzzi Stelvio with 1700 miles on the clock from Woods in Abergele. I hope it turns out to be as rewarding as my 1100S, time will tell. I was previously a member as CC Mac for many years but ended up not being able to get access to my old email account so I re registered as CC Mac 2. I would like to thank everyone who helped me over the years with advice photos and tips, and jokes. Thank you Hermann for the silencer many years ago. All the very best, from Mac.

Best of luck Mac 8)
Lot of bike fer your money with a Stelvio, just hope your dealer network for spares is better than it is up here, one of the sole reasons I avoided the Stelvio when I was shopping a few years back, Even the dealer staff in Aberdeen put me off!! There's confidence in your product for you

Good luck with the Guzzi, Quite fancy a 1200 Sport myself but the lack of dealers just puts me off. Maybe one day :) Stay around and keep us informed.

Regards Peter.

What Peter said - hope it works out well for you Mac. :)

I've ridden my friend Stu's 1200 Sport a few times and it's one very sweet motorcycle. He lives near Wrexham and has a Guzzi dealer fairly locally and doesn't seem to have a problem getting bits for it, so hopefully your Guzzi experience will be a positive one.

Oops! read part of the post and thought - "2 posts in 10 years???"

Someone said to me the other day, that the Stelvio was much-underrated, but of course - not many around to gauge that.

Be interesting to hear your thoughts after a few thousand miles.

Hey, Wrexam :!: I suspect that's where my 'ex' 'learned' to drive.

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Ask him if he remembers the Kawasaki Centre in Abbot Street. I used to be the manager there in the early 80's :)

I will continue to view Boxertrix and I will keep you posted regarding problems and pleasures. Not many Stelvios around is part of the appeal. All the best.
