Rivet tool for 6mm steel rivets

Post by Dog Tyred »

A question to all you engineers out there.

I have to insert some 6mm dia steel rivets to refix my door card on my car (had to replace the lock mechanism) but I am struggling to find a rivet tool large enough to re-apply the dealer supplied rivets which are 6mm stainless steel with a 3mm pin.

Tried a concertina type rivet tool but the supplied nipple adaptors are not big enough and the mandrel will not open up enough either.

Can anyone point me to an appropriate tool and if anyone has one any chance of a borrow (subject to distance obviously)

That's a big blind-rivet........

Boxadog will have the answer (and maybe a couple in his garage) :)
