Telelever removal

Hi folks

Just a question, what special tools do I need to remove the telelever from an 11S? So far I had to get a 12mm hex key. Any words of wisdom on the removal process or is a straight forward job? Doesn't look that involved from what I can make out looking at the exploded diagram.

Will have read through the Hayens manual about assembly but open to any advice from the forum.

Never fully removed a telelever but I have removed the forks and I can tell you that the connection between the telelever and the fork brace is a bastard to undo as its thread locked. You will need an allen key for the top of the bolt (preferably a socket on breaker bar but an extention tube over a normal allen key should do the trick) and a huge ring spanner (27mm I think?) for the nut. Apply loads of heat to the connection with a hot air gun and then apply a twatting device to the end of the spanner to break the bond (making sure the bolt doesn't spin at the same time by holding on to the allen key). Three hands are useful at this point.

Good luck

I had mine took off a couple of times by friends up North.
They had the bike hung up from the top yoke and rested the front wheel on a chair to stop the forks coming right out of the tubes.
Took about an hour but they had all the gear and there were three of us to help & fetch/carry.

The forks and bottom brace has already been removed. That is probably the biggest job when removing the telelever. Piece of piss. Will see about the installation when it comes to it.
