Hi Bayley,
They make Halvarssons. I've worn the safety level 2 jacket for last three years and the outershell has never let in a drop of water. the inner safety bit is pretty heavy though but the shop I bought it from said those they had seen that had slid down the road had done their thing though the outer shell had shredded away. Though hopefully I dont get to try that out!
I'd certainly recommend it, also their summer gloves the Dino model at £80 are comparable with a good pair of Held gloves and a lot cheaper. Had them two years and seem to have plenty of life left in them.
back to the stove, poulets on the go,
call in for coffee next time you ride past,
H

Halvarssons and Lindstrands. I haven't got any of their kit but I had a look at their stuff at the bike show and spoke with a very Scandinavian chap. All their kit looked really good quality and they didn't strike me as a company who would put fashion over function. I'd certainly buy their stuff. I also liked the Dino gloves.

In a fifty mile race I am the best, I ride five miles and skid the rest.

Cheers Henry, do you know a shop in London that stocks this stuff or did you buy it online?tripe wrote:Hi Bayley,

Bought pair of Lindstrand textile denim jeans last year, well lined with their own type of kevlar and armoured at knee and hip, had to mess about a bit to get the knee armour in the right place, if I remember the armour was bought separate.
Quite heavy and thick, went out on a hot day and I was not cooking but warm.
Not for the south of France but good kit for a non rainy day if you want to chance not wearing leathers.
At £90 from Gear Box Poole I was not complaining.

No one with decent stock in London Bayley but I got mine from GlF Accessories just outside Bedford as it was cheapest and he was a charming chap on the phone.
Bikebits in Hampshire had some stuff too

My local Halvarssons dealer is Haines & Co http://www.hainesmc.co.uk/
They are in the Forest of Dean but I know he sells on Ebay, and as he told me the last time I was in the shop, always phone or pop in as he can often do discounts which he cant put up on the web owing to contractual stuff. Knocked 20% off the Outlast fleece I bought off him last time. Promised me a similar deal on one of the Optimal Jackets Ive been thinking about.
