I've just bought a pair of used panniers, but on closer inspection I've found that one of the catches that holds the lid closed does not work (buyer beware etc) after drilling out the rivets & removing the mechanism I've found that one of the shafts is sheared where the smaller handle is splined into a monkey metal link. I think I can fit a sleeve over this & pin the two sections together, but before I do has anyone got a knackered pannier they want to sell? (plastic smashed, but lock ok)

if you don't have any luck - I believe BMW MIGHT sell you a lock mechanism independantly (dunno the cost though).
Thanks , that is just what I need, I could get a new handle assembly from 'motorworks' at £70.00 or a dealer part at £90.00 lets hope I'm the only one bidding
