Don't know if anyone say the MCN this week but there was a letter from Michellin's head of technical development. He said...

"Michellin tyres are designed so that they can be repaired, irrespective of speed rating. They have to be fixed by a professional tyre dealer etc. etc.... They can be ridden at up to their original speed rating. You can have a mximum of two fixes per tyre and the fixes must not overlap."

So there you are. For all you Pilot Sport and Road owners out there. Don't be fobed off with any other answer.

Unfortunately, if the company policy is to 'not repair' (mainly due to liability insurance and not wanting to be exposed to a claim from the 'no win, no fee' merchants in the unlikely event of a blow out) then you're stuffed.

My mate is a tyre fitter and when I got a puncture in the Alps in June he wanted to do a temporary repair as I wouldn't be able to get a permanent repair. I said no thanks and got it repaired at one of the Metifiot outlets in Annecy - the 010 held up fine as have the various tyres I've had repaired in the past.

The trick will be finding a willing tyre fitter, regardless of what Michelin say.

Finding a good repairer in Cambs is easy, just pop up to Whitlesey They did a permanent repair to the Girlies Blackbird rear 020 and she had no problem with it. The bike did not last though, she swapped it for her S!
