My front fork yoke finish is almost non existant and needs refinishing. Any suggestions for paint type? Can it be done in situ?

Cheers,

Cheers,
Just did mine last week. Cheap jobbie with Silver Hammerite though! Looks a lot better than it did, but not THAT good. Mine was off the bike which makes it a lot easier, but removing the forks isn't a 5 minute job.

If you want a spare to do off the bike, then I've got one in the garage available for a very few of your earth pounds

Apply Nitromors with paint brush and aggitate with wire wool. You probably want to wear goggles and gloves for this Repeat until all paint is removed. Throroughly rinse and finish with Wet and Dry paper.

There are probably better paints available but I used a triple set of primer, silver and clear varnish(?) aerosols. £10 all in from Halfords.
Mask area, shake shake cans well, apply lots of thin coats rubbing down between coats. Sorted.

What a bunch of cheap skates!!!!,stripped the front end off, left with bottom yoke and ball joint!!! an interesting experience but do able non the less(getting the ball joint of that is),had said yoke powder coated, takeing trouble to put bolts in said threads and masked of holes were the fork tubes go through and bingo!!!.

But don't feel to bad Clare, mines never seen a winters day in it's life Le-Mans trips excepted and the paint still peeled of.
