Electrics question

Post by RiceBurner »

I installed a relay and switch for my heated jacket yesterday - which involved disconnecting the battery briefly.

I noticed today that the clock was reset during this operation. What else will have been reset???

The bike doesn't have a CCP chip btw.

Don't know about a lot of this stuff RB, but I believe the TPS might need resetting when you reconnect - just fully open the throttle twice before first starting it after reconnecting the battery I believe.

Others will know

I think the Motronic resets so you might notice the bike running rougher than usual for a few miles.

It did feel a bit odd this morning - but by the time I got to London it wasn't too bad. :)

The throttle should be open twice with the ignition switched on, before starting (after battery disconnection)...according to my dealer... this will register the throttle positions etc.
