Airbox water drain plug

Post by madman »

I removed the airbox water drain plug from the girlfreinds S this morning, and was surprised to be greeted with about 3 tablespoons of oil with a little water in it. I then checked mine and found it empty.
Questions: Is this checked on a service? Do others ever get anything out of the airbox?

When I did the clutch I took the airbox off and found the contents of an oil tanker inside it. I reckon (actually I know, but I'd convinced my self that I didn't) that I'd overfilled the bike a few (OK OK, quite a few) times and it must have spat it all out in the box - anyway, I used to to change the oil again on the S and the bit left over to fry some eggs for breakfast. Waste not want not
