well where do i start i have been here before the front brakes just will not stop squeeling at slow speed i have fitted geniune bmw pads ,ferrodo platinum, pads ebc hh pads. and they still squeak ( early bremdo ) and have copper eased the back of the pad i have checked the pistons on the calipers they all push back with thumb pressure and come out easily i am tempted to buy an overhaul kit from motorworks just to make sure everything is all ok but keep thinking everything is ok because the piston s come out and go back in all ok theres no judering on the brakes to indicate a warpped disc the wheel post are all ok as the bike has only done 9k
can some offer any more help as its driving me king mad
if all else fails time to up grade to six potters
cheers jts

I don't know what the answer is, but if you find out let us know because I think just about every BMW I know of has squeaky brakes.

Didn't have any squealing in the 9k b4 I swapped to AP 6 pots and haven't had any since I swapped. Think the earlier Brembos are more prone to this that the later BMW badged calipers

Ditto what Stempy said re the squeakage - I've owned 2x1100R 2x1100S 1150GS and an R1150R. The only one which didn't have squealy brakes was the 1150 - that had the later Tokico/Brembo Evo calipers.

WE!
I stand corrected.
I couldnt have done it without the kind assistance of our good friend chris.
He has an abundance of knowledge and contacts on most things two wheeled. He also has a carpeted fully equiped heated garage.
All in all he and his other half june, are bloody great.

Is that enough praise or do you want more?

Bedroom.....bloody cheek of it

Must confess I haven't been much of a bike rider of late! Been working for my mate down in Sussex.....I'm transferring a 15'000 strong record collection onto CD and Hard Drive.
So I've been using the c*r! But did get the beastie out for a spin into town yesterday.Blew the cobwebs away...and a few c*r drivers too!
Is it true you're changing your hair colour again?! I used to do that...the results are self explanatory!
How's life in Brum?? Be careful...Mr C is listening!

Life in brum is good at the moment. Finally got some full time work,so i may throw a little money at the bike.I really do need new suspension units.
Yes the colour is going to change again.Sorta back to its old colour scheme, black and orange. However the black will be matt and the orange spangly holographic metalflake orange.I freely admit i have a strange take on what i think looks cool and what is actually cool! But each to his own eh!Sorta rat bike meets 70,s disco theme.
Whats happin on the courier front then? You aint packed it in have you?
gus
anybody who wants to vent frustration, simply phone BMW customer?technical relations."there is nothing wrong or ever has been with our fine german engineered machines"
"well nothing that we would ever admit to"

yes it's funny how you can go full circle and suddenly find yourself back at the colour you started with!
Being a courier is on hold at the moment!Must try and wean myself off it somehow....especially as it's getting on winter......don't think I could face another winter on the bike. The overheads were starting to kill me anyway!
Not quite sure how long the new job'll last but I'm quite enjoying myself;am working in small recording studio......it's like being on the bridge of a spaceship....more buttons than a sow's t*t!
Good to hear you have a propper job.Hope it keeps you in hair dye for a few years!
