I don't doubt that, but I'm more interested to know what's happening here in the UK, which I did not make clear in my first post.
I brought up the global market to try to bring a bit of perspective and broaden an interesting discussion. There were a couple of posts stating that the Japanese were struggling while the European brands were making hay.

I believe that is a false assumption based on a narrow view. The drop in the UK market probably warrants a couple of minutes at a board meeting. What really has them losing sleep is the impact of the Chinese brands in the massive Asian growth markets.

Of the European brands, some like BMW are developing products that will become the future, scooters, city bikes, E-bikes. I believe BMW has a bright future. Some like Triumph, are moving large capacity machines and nostalgia bikes into a dwindling market. Perhaps their brand will survive as the growth markets move on from utility bikes, perhaps not.

You say you are interested to know what's happening here in the UK, and yet (as usual) you merely argue against everyone elses opinions.

You appear to have made up your mind from the outset, and that makes the thread - pointless, really.

Al
Maybe it makes the thread pointless to bikesnbones, but surely not pointless per se?

I quite like the way threads drift.

Isn't it inevitable we'd have to talk about the thing globally? Then I can't help my mind drifting more onto the fundamentals and what is intrinsic in the form and function of motorcycles. Of all sizes.

I've expressed my opinion.
Show me anything I have posted on this thread which you see as argumentative.

Good discussion I'd say.
Pity there are a few who don't like people having different viewpoints to their own.

this is on the same lines but to do with cars, apparently the UK is keeping the German car factories open.

Well - because you always pose the question, as if you are genuinely seeking an answer..........

Then you argue against all the opinions which you proport to seek. It is a familiar formula.

You are Boxerboy2 and I claim my £10.

Al
EDIT.
Another valiant attempt at derailing the thread and trying to cause an argument.
Sad.
Very sad.
Suggest you PM me and take it away from the forum.
Six pages suggests that this is an interesting debate,
Just such a shame that there are people like you who feel the need to cause bad feeling.
I'm not biting anymore.
I plan to ignore you from now on.
Suggest you do the same.
