I sold the 750ss. Practically gave it away really. I should have kept it. It only had 60 or so HP but demonstrated that with light weight you don't need huge HP.

Personally, and this is just my opinion, I think far too much emphasis is put on BHP these days.Herb wrote: I sold the 750ss. Practically gave it away really. I should have kept it. It only had 60 or so HP but demonstrated that with light weight you don't need huge HP.
agreed, most of the bikes I've enjoyed most have been sub 100hp (5 x K100RS's and the Boxercup), to me torque and driveability are more important.fontana wrote:Personally, and this is just my opinion, I think far too much emphasis is put on BHP these days.Herb wrote: I sold the 750ss. Some of the most fun bikes I've ridden have been sub 50bhp.
I'm interested in getting one of those.slparry wrote:5 x K100RS's
All of mine where the 8 valve engine, IMHO that engine was the most reliable lump ever to grace a motorcycle, I had mine from 1985 to 2007 and in all that time I had one problem, a failed throttle position sensor, still got me home but wouldn't exceed 60 mph.fontana wrote:I'm interested in getting one of those.slparry wrote:5 x K100RS's
I did have a K1100RS and an LT, which were great, but the 4V K100 was the original brick, and something of a modern classic, which is why I'd like to own one
Any issues ?
The fact you had 5 of them qualifies you to be something of an expert
