Winger.... its worth buying a GPS system just to get around Madrids new motorway ring road system.... you cannot get out there and ask the locals even though the natives would gladly help.

If you read the original thread, you'll see i have one!!! i've only driven 30,000 miles with one in the last 8 months useing it!!!,to earn a living when i can't be arsed to engage my brain in my sprinter van, fine!!!,to me rideing a bike, certainley abroad is an art, be it what bike you use,or how many wet weather gear options you've been through before hitting on a good one,and while useing a gps on a bike might make you life easy!!!! knowing what one is like in a van,it's a distraction, navigating with both a map and useing the sun working out which direction i'm going is a skill i'm proud of and god knows i've dropped some mighty bollocks along the way,of which i should do a separate posting for the amusement it would cause!!.

I realise in modern day society,it's just another skill that is being lost, because people can't be bothered, and i know from even the time i've used a GPS,it knocks the edge of your sense of direction because all you pay attention to is the directions from it and nothing else, when i ride a bike all i concentrate on is the road ahead,if i have to pull over to read a map,and get lost from time to time when i'm on holiday!!! just adds to the achievement when we,(i say we because my other half does her bit as well) arrive at our destination.

But going round in circles in my van with someones pride and joy in the back when all i want to do is go home, then i'll use a GPS!!!
