…finally got my Puig screen…
…so…
…does it fit as good as the original BMW screen…?
…nope…
…it doesn’t…
…you can almost throw the stock screen at its place…
…and the Puig screen needs a bit fiddling around…
…and those screen clips on the OEM part do fit a (tiny) bit better…
…does it look as good as the original BMW screen…?
…don’t think so…
…somehow you can see, especially just above the headlamp, that the Puig one is aftermarket…
…does is scratches as easy as the original BMW screen…?
…NOPE !!…
…you just can wax and polish the screen without seeing those famous scratches you see on the stock part…
…do I like this dark-smoke version…
…yes I do ; it is even a bit darker than BMW’s black screen…
…what I liked about the stock screen is the dark greyisch inner fairing part which you can see just above the headlamp...
…and with the Puig one mounted, it is gone. At least gone with the black version…
…the screen ends (or begins…) directly above the headlamp…
…but most important ; does the screen work…?
…don’t know…; the weather is crap over here…
...and I don't want my bike getting the same look as HJR's bike...

…so I just have to wait a few days (or months…)
...well, maybe tomorrow...
...the forecast is a bit sun, no rain, and less windy...
BMW's dark screen ; same model as their clear version
the Puig one ; you can see, the screen is noticeably higher
and the looks from inside

Thanks for all your pictures and info guys. The Colgate special looks fantastic with the dark black screen and as I'm one of the few with good taste and own a Colgate! I've made my mind up now and ordered one Puig in black today from the link in Hrj 100 post.
Very helpful Nederlander and he will post it to UK for me.

1) don't know ; maybe you should send Puig an email, and ask for there dealer for GB.
2) with shipping I paid 108 Euros ; but I've posted an e-bay link, and these German guys are cheaper.
3) yep ; I'm used to it now.
4) not yet ; weather is crap. Maybe next Wednesday ; the forecast looks good.
5) I'll tell you ASAP.

Thanks for the link, RoLoo, I've just ordered a light smoke one. I'll be interested to hear your views after you've been out for a ride. I must admit I quite like the standard height one as, although it doesn't give you that much protection, at least there is no buffeting. My ones become a bit scratched though so I'm hoping the Puig will be a bit more scratch-proof.

...the Puig is scrath-proof...
...different kind of plastic...
...and as far as I know now ; I will take the bike out this afternoon...
...the forecast is dry, a bit sunny, and around 8 degrees...

…so ; finally I had the change to test the Puig screen this midday…
…this morning started with minus 5 degrees Centigrade, and today around two I saw 2 degrees C. on thermometer…
…and we all know, sunny, and dry two degrees are enough for a little (test) ride…
…I can write a long story ; but it is quite simple. This somewhat higher is screen is so much better than the (much too) low stock one…
…suddenly I saw 230 (144 mph) on the speedometer, and I was still in an ‘upright’ position…
…you can tour, in every comfort, around with, lets say 140-150 km/h (88-94 mph)…
…no buffeting…
…no extra annoying wind noise (hard to say of course, I have a quiet helmet (BMW's Sport Integral), and custom made ear-plugs)…
…and at lower speeds, between 80 and 110 km/h (50 to 69 mph), there is still enough pressure against the shoulders, for not getting sore wrists…
…this screen gives you a wind protection a bit like on the 1100S…
…well ; my conclusion : I’m happy with my new screen !
…a few pics I took today…
we had a cold start this morning
here I am in Vollenhove ; with its odd church
once, long ago, Vollenhove was a fishing-village
Uncle Sam (name of that little boat) in Vollenhove
very cold ; but a great day for a little tour
after Vollenhove, I visited Hasselt
…and home again...

hi roloo
the pics are really good ,what camera did you use for the pics , going back to the bike ,the wind noise is bad with the standard screen . will have to invest in a new one .put a small bubble screen on mine like the endurance racers use . the rain will tell if its any good ,different damp patches on the leathers.[/img]
