in the words of that well used cliche!
"its great to put faces to names"
I feel the need to do a bit of touring, especially now I have a bike that eats motorway miles. The GS was awfull on motorways.

I'll think about it.

I was very active on it from when I first started riding in '03 until '06, when I got rid of my second 650GS. I did a lot of riding with Dazzer and Carcher until Trevor had a fit and 'kicked' all the members that had migrated from 650s to 1150s and 1200s off the site.

Never looked back - this is a much friendlier site!

Andy
I don't believe we have met. The F650 site seems to have gone a bit downhill, but I don't care now.

Ever the optimist eh?

Its going to be a cracking weekend - the sun will be shining, a bit of cloud cover in the evening so it doesn't get too chilly, the salt will have all be washed away due to heavy rain a couple weeks before...

...i can dream can't I? 8)

Andy, I always find it better to be pessimist as I am nearly always pleasantly surprised when things turn out better than I expected, rather than being an optimist and being frequently dissapointed when things and people fail to live up to expectations

I too sincerely hope that the sun will shine on us all for the whole weekend but ....it is Wales afterall  d'oh! there I go again

Sod it, its going to be crackin weekend whatever the weather [smilie=guiness.gif] :occasion5: :occasion7: [smilie=drinking.gif] [smilie=drinks_wine.gif]

Looking forward to meeting you....oh and your lovely missus

Welcome Hopper,
Hope to see you around Yorkshire if you can't make Wales. Worth the effort (IMHO) if you can join us all in Wales though.

Regards Peter.

Welcome Hopper,
Lovely Bike in my favourite colours too. Don't worry about the smoke on start up after being on side stand. My R1150R (2005) does exacltly the same. I am always being reassured that they burn a bit of oil.
Hope to see you in Wales too.
Gail :D

welcome hopper,i`am also a newbie, found the site easy to navigate around and you can useually find what your after.as for the oil Q,i was told that if the bike is parked up for a while use the center/ paddock stand as the oil drains from the right pot,and to start it whilst sitting/center stand to level the oil off.(now chaps before you call me a twat! thats what i was told by a bmw dealer, plus i`am 6`7 and 23.6 stone.lol

your dealer is correct. mine always does it as i leave it for weeks/sometimes months on end on it's side stand.

Thanks for the reassurance lads.

I have no reason to doubt the dealer, but after all, he is still a salesman!!

I'll keep an eye out for you Yorkshire lot.
