been away and only just catching up with recent posts, I am on the coast in Exmouth, devon. if you find your route is near here drop me a pm before you come over. I am away 1- 14 june, but can offer a pit stop if we are around.

If you're heading North up the East of England, the A15 is a nice bit of road the runs north from Peterborough to Lincoln. I see that it goes further than that, but I've not seen the rest of it!

On the way up from York, the North Yorkshire Moors is very nice, and if you like seafood, a stop in Whitby is worth it. From there, cut back to Darlington, and on up the A68 to Scotland. Take picture of you and the bike next to the 'Scotland' stone

Most of the roads in Scotland that I travelled were lovely & one place to see is Glen Coe, although to be honest, Scotland is just a wonderful place to visit as a whole...

I'm down in Ramsgate, so you're probably not even going to get anywhere near me, but if I can assist at all, please let me know

Sounds great. As for Scotland,.. J o Groats is not the nicest place,.. but it does have a special signpost. The coast road around the top of Scotland heading west/south is long but great. As Stevie said,.. Applecross (Pass of Cattle) well worth a visit. The the road down through Oban to Hunters Quay is a beauty.
A great place to 'Camp' in the Lake District is at 'Boot' in Eskdale. It sits at the end of Rhino and Hardknot Passes,... a great place and the Boot Inn does amazing food.

I took the road south from Oban to Lochgilphead last week on the BCR (first time on a bike), and thought it was a great road - will be a lot better when the weather gets better.

What I've seen from the UK and what I thought of it:
- Hadrians Wall; interesting/fascinating
- Edinborough; nice like many cities, didn't spend enough time to get to know it
- Scotland: love it, beautiful/impressive nature and nice villages and castles, lots of history, quiet roads (outside the main routes)
- Pitlochry: if you like whisky; the Edradour destillery
- Glen Coe: impressive scenery on bit crowded road
- Burton upon Trent: met some nice people there (Boxertrix MassMeeting 2005)
- Peak District: nice road over Snake pass
- Duxford airbase: if you're interested in WW2 planes, this is the best in Europe: http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/
- Stonehenge: very (too) touristic but interesting
- London: not on a bike. Take the sub

You know, that is (probably unintentionally) quite hilarious.

Can't show you where he went to school as the rebel labour Local Authority in 1989 closed it down, sold the land and we built a Tescos on it!!
