The sad fact is if you want an alrounder that does most things the selection is as limited now,as it was 7 years ago,sure the Fazer wasn't around then,the motor is great the rest is like summat out of a christmas cracker,i've a mate with one,he's very happy with his,now he's changed wheels and suspension!!,he just can't find any aftermarket brakes.

The 1050 is a great bike,try rideing it two up,it's bloody nightmare,with passenger perched out in the breeze,the VFR is a good'un if you like small motors,linked brakes and your prepared to play 'Dixie' on the gear lever.

In stock trim i'm no lover of the S either,but rather than sell it, i've turned it into what i want and it's all the better for it,i bet the cost of bits comes no were near what some people have spent on various bikes.

I thought the brakes on the fazer thou were the same as on an R1, R6 and Fazer 600. I can only vouch for the Fazer 600: they were rather good...one finger controllable and enough power to make your eyes bulge.

The big naked bikes appear to make great all-rounders, and when fitted with hard or soft luggage - do the touring bit very well?

Of the bunch - I thought the Fazer was reckoned to be the best built, best handling of them?

Come to think it, I have never even ridden a jap four cylinder before (or any other four cylinder for that matter). So a CB1300 S will be the first.....hopefully
