Brown oil is a sign of water/ rust. Also a sign of cheap nasty oil!snavetrauts wrote:BigBlackfalco, I will give that a try but I will buy an allan key or preferably a socket driver if there is one.
BTW... When I changed the engine oil... the colour was a ruddy brown... not the normal black tinge you normally get from well used oil.
I only changed it because Vines had said they had done a full 6000 mile service when I bought it.. but the air filter was knackered... Whether this would be changed or not, I assumed they would change this as it was so bad..But NO!... So I thought I would do a complete service.
I assume they had changed the oil... so this has done about a 1000 miles since new...BUT ruddy brown... no frothing felt very viscous still... but the colour...ANY IDEAS folks???![]()
I got it on ebay Califiornia USA after reading about them on on the Pelican board.bigblackfalco wrote:Only you could come up with that one! Where on earth did you find that?!julian wrote:Keep up folks, the smart London set use this Classic Mercedes Tool
Aye, but does it fit between plug and the exhaust collar???Adski wrote:On the topic of the 14mm hex issue...I brought one from Coulsdon Auto's earlier today for under £2.
I guess car's have large hex drain plugs too as that's what it was labelled as!
I got the last one in stock though.
Just...but there's no way I can get a socket on there. However the hex bit is long enough to get a spanner on it.Nu2beemers wrote:Aye, but does it fit between plug and the exhaust collar???
