Another vote here for the Daytona EVO GTX.

had mine going on 2 years now I think (can't even remember when I got them!) and they're still good. I do a regular 3-4 hours of riding every day.

HG are good at that.

I've lost count of the excellent products I've bought at HG, then needed to replace and the "new" model is crap.

Daytona NonStop Goretex boots, 50,000 miles, no leaks. Says it all.
Just bought another pair of Daytonas to replace them as the sole on my first pair was somewhat worn. I managed to found a slightly used pair on e-bay for £65 rather than the £200 retail price.

I had tried Altberg boots. Excellent quality but the sole is more like a hiking boot and I lost too much feel for the brake and gear levers when wearing them. Never leaked even in Scottish winters but way to warm for summer use / continental touring.

About 15 years ago I came by a set of "Snobo Rainshakers" - catchy name I think not. These were standard issue for many police forces. They're not very trendy looking, they even have a little Union Jack label on the back (great for those days out with the BSA club). However they are without doubt the best and most waterproof boots I have ever had. I have used them through a lot of winters and they are still going strong.

I had a quick surf and it seems they are now being made/sold by Altberg Bootmakers in Richmond, N.Yorks as the Altberg Clubman Classic

I have been wearing some BMW Goretex lined boots for the last several years and ridden thru some 'gully washers" . Even when everything else leaked they kept my feet dry.

Also have a pair of Oxtar Jupiter boots and the only water I have had inside weas from runoff from the rain pants. Even went to Colorado and walked around in the snow for a few days, feet dry and comfy.

Err... well, yeah, that's the idea. Gore-tex breathes and so does leather to a certain degree.

HG sales patter along the lines of 'put wet hands into goretex glove and immerse in bucket of water, sometime later remove from water, remove glove and hey presto dry hand'.

To be fair though, I agree that gore-tex struggles in extreme temps.

Here,here. During recent wet trip to Scotland i found out my Frank Thomas Aqua boots were less than waterproof. Bought a pair of Sealskins for the ride home and hey presto, wet boots but bone dry feet

As a bonus, Sealskins can be worn with any boots so your not just limited to using your fully waterproof gotex winter boots in the middle of a typical British (wet) summer!

I,ll second seal skinz are the business.I wear them with my sidi,s when the weather gets danp.

This week's rain has undermined the Gaffer tape I have used for the last 5 years to cover a small hole in my SiDi black rains...(carefully inserted by a Ford Transit rusty bumper)

I now discover, as I sit here with wet feet (the other leaked for the first time this Morning) and sodden gloves (it was sunny when I left home this Morning, so didn't tuck them into my sleeves) that everything is sooooo expensive... The Black Rains are £50 more...

So its Daytona or Altberg then! The expense of it all!

Even my sailing storm trousers sprang a leak this Morning...though my new Rukka triousers are supposedly waiting for me at the post office...I found out only now.

And it won't rain again for another three months!

Can't speak for the Altberg (although they look like the business) but tried on Black Rains when getting the Daytonas - the Daytonas are in a different league in terms of fit and comfort.

So far so good (also the newish HG goretex pants) following yesterday's morning downpour. Stayed warm & dry..

Glad I'm inside at the mo... its lashing down.

Aquired a pair of GTXs Saturday afternoon in Munich...and the chap knocked off 30 euro... (as he wanted to close up and close a sale). Bargain!

Also found out they're made in darkest Niederbayern...
