great responses :D

kids are a little way off yet, although its on the agenda and I suspect it will become a major priority for the other half once we've moved (revised offer confirmed today... :D )

on the more straightforward subject of waterproof pants - bought the HG Tuareg ones this morning. Following ride back through miserable weather this evening, can safely say they're waterproof if a little too beige....

Won't stay that colour for long around London - but I like the fact they have leather knees which gives piece of mind if nothing else.

Just about go over jeans which is a bonus.

cheers

Ade (warm and dry). 8)

Why do people make bike jackets that colour? I bought a grey/black Hein Gericke Cruise jacket last autumn and commuted in it for a week - after that time the grey parts were filthy. (I took it back because it was falling apart too - got a Master instead for a good price).

I realise that a black jacket gets just as dirty but it doesn't show and ignorance is bliss  I'd have had to wash the grey jacket every week and that isn't good for them. It's no accident that most bike gear is black...... 8)

The light colours must only be for Dakar or summer riders...

What wouldn't I give for another Shoei jacket... :-(
