I was determined not to get into the realm of buying any MP3 gadgety things (I'm a vinyl freak when it comes to music replay) but you've made me go and buy a Nano for myself.
It's only taken me since 2pm today to suss out how to use iTunes though. The supplied instructions are sh*te.
Anyway...
It is one very cool little gadget.
Richard, the thing about DIGITAL is that it is a chameleon....just mimicks whatever you put into it.
So just record your vinyl and convert to mp3...job done.

Can you recommend any software for putting vinyl onto my PC? Only problem is that my pooter's upstairs from the hifi and
a. I've about 1000 lp's so it'd take me yonks to record even a small selection of favourites
b. My turntable weighs about 30kg so don't fancy carrying it/re-siting it by the computer (having the PC and its entourage of cables'n'stuff downstairs will not be good for domestic harmony)
Or I may just put up with the slightly duff(ish) sound quality. It's acceptable though.

Personally I'd put it onto cd first in full fat format. Then load the cds onto your pc. I don't know any specific software for copying vinyl. I guess you could use something like quicktime pro??

You need to buy the Rough Guide to Ipods from most good booksellers, costs £4.99, have a look at my earlier post to bob for the authors.
If you want to change vinyl to MP3 have a look at this web site, they sell a turntable that converts vinyl to MP3 it costs about £120 I think, it also does cassettes.
