What he said.
Last Summer, Rods & I were working up in Scotland (Edingburgh Tattoo thingy) where each night our coach journey from Dunfermline into E/burgh was escorted by Lothian & Borders Police, riding Pans of 11 & 13 varieties. Got chatting to a couple of the guys riding one evening and began to probe them about the Pan's handling problems. They didn't pull any punches with their descriptions - comments such as 'taking up 2 lanes of a motorway at 120mph isn't our idea of fun' etc etc.
Of course, H*nda will deny there's a problem - as they've always done in the past. I've done a fair bit of digging about recently regarding supposedly reliable bikes - it's amazing what stories begin to surface after a while. Let's put it this way - some manufacturers' bikes aren't quite living up to their reputation. And I'm not talking about BMW.
When I despatched on an early version Pan I was rather alarmed by it's handling at speeds over 80mph.Twas a real handful.Took lots of concentration to keep it in one lane.Round town it was a fine(if a bit heavy) infact had inpecable slow speed handling.
The other thing that scared me was the way you could push the the front wheel with the brake fully locked up/forks would compress under braking/load and wheel would just lock. Not much feedback in the handling dept at all!

Never stopped me. I've been BMW'less since December. Although my heart has pains whenever I pass an S. I'd still have another. Like everyone else, I will be taking the F800 out for a spin. Probably will be the closest thing to the 1100S. Can't honestly see me getting a 1200S. If I want a bike like that then I'll go and buy another Blade/Gixer/R1/RSV etc. Way too much choice for a lot less money.
Dealership ( Mill Sunderland ) only had two bikes allocated to it. One which had already been built and one due build and delivery in week 25. I chose the latter as I wanted a couple of factory options.
Ordered the bike in Yellow. Selected factory options of Heated Grips, On Board Computer and clear indicator lenses.
Bike due for delivery week 25, which equates to around the Middle of June.
