Bob (Boxadog) is famous for the the splinters which are lodged in his *rse from sitting on the fence. ;)

Seriously though, he knows his stuff.

I might get the VFR wheels powder coated cos it's only a Honda - but the Boxercup? They would get done properly

Looks like I need to investigate two pack then (whilst desperately trying not to crack a rubbish and probably inappropriate Tupak Shakur joke).

Haha, brilliant!!

I sort of agree, but equally I've had wheels done by powder coating and they looked really good. For sure the two-pack route gives a wider range of colours/finishes, but it's more expensive, and (in my opinion) not as durable.

From my experience, powder coating or K2 is not wifey proof on our 4 wheel vehicles :) K 2 gives you more choice in colours and top coat finishes ie satin, matt or gloss. No finish is chip proof. I would say pc is more durable and less expensive. A high class paint system and finish will be more labour intensive. It`s a personal thing.

Agreed Dave but Express paints are less expensive and seem to offer larger size aerosols. Both good suppliers but for me Express Paints edge it. A 400ml aerosol goes nowhere, actually that is not strictly true as there is a nice bmw engine silver hue to an area of my garage floor and the lawn mower has a ghosting of it too!

Chris, that's useful to know. Being a Yorkshireman, have you not tried scraping it off and putting it in the liquidiser?

i powder coated the rims on my last ducati , they looked great , and stayed that way for many thousands of miles , and yes it was a heavy finish , but it was very easy to wipe clean.
its not a boxer , its a 180 degree v-twin
