That was the bike which got me interested in motorcycling...........

Looked in a Classic Bike mag, and saw one for sale for around £2500, and thought:

"I could tour Europe for 10 years and that would owe me nothing" :D

Did my DAS and went for more modern machinery - the R1100s.

It's still a milestone in motorcycle development, though!

Precisely, my mate with the K1 BMW paid very little for it and it toured the highlands doing 1400 miles over the weekend with no problem, in fact it's been far more reliable than certain K12GT's have been ;)
