So i'm also thinking of being sad & looking @ polishing my pipes however they are well 'worn' shall we say particularly those immediately exiting the cylinder heads; my question is can you bring them back to life (i.e. a chrome like finish) if they are have ended up as that dull & non-polished finish that they once were? If so, what is the best approach & products?

yep , 800 wet and dry , if they are very brown , then autosol , mine look the same , but to be fair they were done off the biike as part of an ongoing rebuild ,,, one word though ,,, when youve polished them dont leave any grubby fingerprints on them before you start it grease or black polish hand marks as they burn in and stain , i give mine a wipe with meths on a rag , then let them dry before starting the bike .
also as mentioned , once done the first time it only takes a few mins to keep them gleaming . i like the look , and watching the color creep down the pipes gives you an idea of how each cylinder is burning.
its not a boxer , its a 180 degree v-twin

I look at all these lovely shiny bikes on here and ......

Can not believe that there are so many guys out there who take such good care of their bikes ...

I am such a lazy bugger , I just ride it .

When its real manky , a quick spray with muck off , hose down let it dry , spray liberally with GT85 and away we go again !!

My cleanest shiniest bike ....
