Yeah 14k is very short life.
Recommend getting the front of the bike off the ground with a jack, and a mate to hold the rear steady while you check that front end.
Wear in the forks or brakes is easy to distinguish then.
I'm pretty sure that the 1100S is the only model that has 2 -yes 2! of those ruddy expensive balljoints, and you really need to be sure where the clunk is coming from before buying 'spensive parts.
Check first, spend later and reluctantly.

Finally got to the bottom of this...
Couldn't figure it out - when you smoothly rotate the forks from side to side it's absolutely fine. However, move it more quickly and it "clunks" slightly. Well on Saturday I had the front wheel out for a new tyre and I had another look at it, and it's the steering damper. Move it slowly and it's smooth as anything. Move it more quickly and the damper kicks in and slows the movement of the bars. So when maneuvering the bike to park it and you move the bars one way and the other this translates as something you can feel through the bars.
In other words no problem at all, problem solved, happy days!
