I find the seat on my 'cup to be fine, the trip up to Scotland was ok to be honest, perhaps the bars in the sports position help take some of the weight off the butt? I've not tried the 11S bars in the "normal" position

Mine are mounted above top yoke so that could be partly why i find the seat so bad 20 miles was about all i could manage it's fine now tho camping shop self inflating seat mat [they were on offer at £5 so i got 4]
and lambland sheepskin covers

I must admit to getting soft in my old age 300mile days and thats it for me now i'm even happier at 250

I think that trip was about 1200 miles in a day, certainly didn't want to ride the next day. The girlfriend at the time was not impressed as her backside was partly on the toolbag at the back. Apparently saying women have an extra layer of fat which gives the curves and would help make it comfy wasn't a good thing to say ... .no wonder I'm single

I went with UKGS's up to Ullapool in 09 it's exactly 500 miles from there to my house. I was on the K12GT and the aircushion / lamb cover seat and being honest it was so comfy doing it in one stretch I'd have quite happily turned around and gone back

I'm fancying doing the Lands End - John o Groats run in a day just for the craic

Most of it on motorways at 80mph and no stops except for fuel plus 1 x 30 minute lunch break .... seeing as we had an hours break on the ferry Stops for coffee, fags, pee etc are the killer to long journeys. I dosed up on proplus caffiend tablets which "wired" me a bit

What stunned me was finding Kevin and Julia Sanders were averaging 1000 miles per day for 19 days on their circumnavigation of the world.

Just checked it's 1120 not 1200 miles

1000 miles a day for 19 days would put me into intensive care i take my hat off to them!

i find 50mph avarage about right take in the odd fag break, fuel stop, traffic hold up,[you can't get through them all] sightseeing stop, etc no matter how hard i push on it seems to be 50 avarage i always plan my journeys for 50mph now if i do a journey quicker it's a bonus

those fag breaks / coffee and sightseeeing stops really eat into averages Every hour stopped is 50 - 80 miles less travelled

I constantly find myself going for a ride out and forgetting to stop 'cos I get into the ride so much and will do 150 - 200 miles without stopping and find myself back on my drive way

A few years ago a new girlfriend and I were enroute to some friends near Bordeaux, and she wanted to stop for a fag break .... and we were only 50 miles from home going past Telford, over the autocom was a brief discussion that we had a ferry to catch, the K had fuel enough to get us to the ferry port and that was where the first stop was, it got a bit frosty for a while

Only quick breaks fuel up quick fag then back on i won't have a intercom for the very reason you mentioned

What i dont like doing is riding with the "lets find a pub for lunch brigade" toilet stops every 20 or so miles realy wind me up but i will travel 100+miles to visit a recomended pub

Well knowing the speeds I have to 'hit' to cover the 50 miles between (for instance) my daughters house in Wolverhampton and my place in Herefordshire in an hour (albeit mostly on 'B' roads), I find a 1000 miles a day, day after day, inconprehensible. Makes me feel like a snail in comparison

I have the Nick Sanders book and DVD in there he talks about going 70 hours without sleep somehow i dont think i willl be attempting anything like this
