Nice work Buzz90. If I still had an 1100S, I'd order one without hesitation.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

This looks GREAT!
I shall do some more reading but it looks like it will fill a gap on my project
(1100GS and I dont think to use the normal RID as I am re-wiring the whole thing)
Thanks!

Thanks for all your kind comments.
Sorry for the lack of recent news. After a few weeks of use, I'm working to improve the displayed information.
I shall try to improve direct sunlight readability as well, but that would sacrifice to the global integration of the module...

Since the last news, the hardware has nearly not evolved (apart from the AR lens).
The software however has changed a lot and especially the display layout.
I mainly wanted the voltage and oil temperature information to be more visible.
I have worked on the logic for the adaptative brigthness and a few other features, but I'll show that in an incoming video.
Let me know if you have remarks on the UI or wishes.

A video to show the new features in detail.
Don't be surprised by the values of temperature or by the way the gears change; there is no sensor attached to this prototype except the ambient light sensor.

Hi everyone.
First, I wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas.
I'm sorry for the lack of recent news on my R1100S gear indicator project.
I have worked hard and a few things are fully defined now (electronics, software, design of the display module,...). However, due to the pandemic, I'm still waiting on critical components like the front lenses.
Stay tuned in 2022 if you want one...
