ditto eggcup. We had a Phillips ambilight, but that went back. In it's place we bought a 42" Panasonic plasma (1080i), the PS3 gets used on the same tv & I honestly can't fault the picture quality using this or simply the standard broadcast channels using the aerial.

Would I go back to crt? No way. Better picture quality is arguable, the real drag with crt is the pure bulk of the tv. Flatscreen is on the wall & takes no floor space plus its far more aesthetically pleasing.

I have a TH50 PZ70 1080p 50 inch plasma and it's not bad. To be honest, the bad thing about it is watching standard def telly. If you stick a DVD on, it's still playing at low res, but looks real good. Just got to afford a Blu-Ray player for the full experience...
