surging boxer

Post by flatspin »

I wonder if any one has any ideas about surging below 3000rpm, the bike is a 2000 R1100s, remus exhaust K&N filter new plugs and recent service by North Oxford BMW did not do it before, at least not aware of it then. But very aware of it now. Also back fire on over run not all the time though. Otherwise bike goes very well.
Thanks Flatspin

There are quite a lot of posts re the surging.
Probably number two to vibes.

I cured it by doing the valve clearances. New air filter and balancing the injectors. Or maybe I just don't notice it anymore.

My bikes in for repair tomorrow for exactly the same problem. - I'm also getting an additional problem with bogging down when the throttle is fully open.

Mine is now sorted - it was a faulty coil in the end. New coil and new plugs now has the bike running smooth as butter. :)
