Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my 2003 boxer cup! I was pulling away from traffic lights in first, changed up to second and the bike seemed to slip out of gear. It made horrible grinding noise with clutch in or out and didn't seem to connect to drive. Could only coast to side of road and get the AA home. Can I fix it? Do I need specialist tools? Any idea how much BMW dealers will charge?
Any info appreciated
Cheers
Rich
Clutch problem?

Sounds expensive, however if you have access to a paddock stand, if you're lucky and have a main stand, I would get the back wheel of the ground and check the rear bevel drive you could also slacken a boot off and see if the shafts turning, then a least you will some indication of where next to look next. Then maybe drop out the gearbox lub and see what condition is it in and more importantly does it have any residues such as metal flakes/ bits. Then failing that its gearbox out time.

Check out the above, it could be the same problem - there is loads on pelican about spline failure.. If it is this BMW will want a lot of money...
Hopefully its something else.
