Rumour has it that, following a persistant campaign by an unnamed BMW Fahrer, BMW Motorrad have partially given in and released an R1200S variant with centre-stand, touring panniers and 21L fuel tank, to be designated R1200SST (Sport Sport Touring). Initially this product is being released to a limited market to test market acceptance, however due to an unfortunate spelling mistake the R1200SST is to be tested by the Dutch, rather than the Deutsch.

On succesful completion of the market trials in the Netherland it is anticipated that a container load of R1200SSTs will be shipped to a beach on the south coast of England to test acceptance in the UK market.

Any questions on the above should be addressed to the BMW Marketing Strategy adviser to BMW UK Hr E. Hosenscheisser.

That is not only funny but really, really, really good news...
Otherwise I guess it is the typical thing that dutch is the anglo-american misnomer for deutsch...I guess that pisses a lot of dutch off...but the good news it means we all will be able to enjoy the new R1200SST soon... :!:
But first they have to sell the last batch of 500 R1200ST Edition models...
Sport, sport, tour beats sport, sport, sport especially since a sport, sport, sport, sport for big,big money is already around the door,door,door...

Ah, the last batch of R1200ST Edition models, well the rumour goes further. In a little reported incident in the Bering Straits, the Japanese whaling fleet somehow managed to lose it's entire stock of anchors. The rumour goes that this last batch of R1200ST Edition models will have anchor chains welded to them and they will be flown to the Bering Straits to be used as replacement anchors.

Is it right that STs weigh less in sea water than on dry land?
