seat height

Post by high_tower »

I was told when i bought my 1100s that the seat height was adjustable. having taken the seat off thats just not true.

anyone got any advice on gaining a little bit more?

mill bmw had no idea when i asked about a taller seat. in total they wanted £700 for a seat and sub frame (total chimps!)

H/T,

If you want to raise the seat height then get a shorter torque arm (assuming you have a standard 'S'), or a replacement shock with ride height adjustment (Wilbers).

Buy a secondhand seat unit and do your own R+D,find a local seat guy and ask what he can do,if all else fails revert to the stocker,i was never happy with the stock seat, sliding with my buns up the tank so i took a picture of the Wunderlich seat(with a hump at the front) and asked for a copy, and he did!!,seat must be 4/5 years old now.

H/T,

I know you can get adjustable rear sets for the bike, but I am no expert. I am sure somebody on this site will be able to help out, try this site but they are not cheap.

There again you could stand in the rain for a few days and see if you shrink. There are a few on this site who are not vertically challenged.
