Just a quick hello and intro from a newbie (to this site and Boxer ownership that is!).
I have been converted to the dark side as of 9 days now.
Took an offer I couldn't refuse on a 2002 BCR with 8000 miles on the clock. Said goodbye to the CBR6F and took the plunge.
Heated grips and lack of chain adjustment and lubing already making me smile at this time of year Floppy gearbox and bike leaning to the right when I blip the throttle taking a bit more getting used to Indicator switchgear still questionable (even though I did own a K100RS a few years back).
Now then - anyone got a Y-piece going cheap? or some Lennies? (Isn't he the frontman from Motorhead?)
I think Lee was tempted on seeing a shiny Mandarin in the car park.
Some imposter even had the cheek to out-tourer me the other week by parking up one of those GS 1200 monstrosities (not a rare red one btw) with full metal luggage! It most have done, oooh, all of those miles from Vines to Leatherhead looking at the gleam on it.
This week I get there to find a shiny Mamola BCR! The car (bike) park's awash with Boxers.
Anyway I've given Lee the heads up on the site, sent him off to sandbar for goodies and kicked his bike over in a jealous rage (:bs: ok mentally, anyway).
Ain't it great that Websense doesn't block this site (yet) - though someone is watching the hit counter rise I'm sure.
Ha ha - yeah, it was that mandarin beauty in the car park that made me scream "Heil Boxer" and ride over to Vines in a fit of passion.
Don't you just love Ewan and Charlie wannabes! I actually saw a GS offroad in Morocco when I was on my trysty XT600 ... no really, I kid you not. German guy on sand and he was going well too! Impressive/annoying.
Anyway - Websense will never block any bike related sites - the Infra Management team lead is a biker!
Holy Crap, .. we're really letting the 'riff-raff' in now, .. the next thing you know we'll have Bonnevile owners turning up Oh,.. and you Leatherhead boys better get some 'Boxertrix Stickers' on your bikes or I'll be 'Ticketing' you both next time I 'drop' there.

Hi Lee and all from another newbie.
My BM life started here in Queensland in the mid 70's with a jaffa R90s followed over the years by another two 90s's (smoke grey) and a 100/7.
Main interests are war birds and technical diving and only dim memories of 16 hour jaunts from Brisbane to Melbourne when police only held an interest if they thought they could catch you.
The 90s comes out periodically when business permits and skies are clear.
I'm keen to know what it's like touring England on the bikes given weather and traffic. Also are their any other 90s owners in your group and what is the parts availability like in England now.
For the record, past working life was stockman in Western Queensland, banking, Queensland Fire and Rescue (17 yrs) and now running a production nursery in the beautiful hinterland of the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane.

Ha ha ... what-EVER! (I am a BCR owner! How the hell am I supposed to fit any more stickers on my bike! )
And Hi Nigel ... can't tell you much about parts in UK as I am new to Boxer ownership (but we have Motorworks and Motobins web sites which can supplied most stuff ... check with others on the site).
As for touring you can't go wrong in the UK (if you come in June-August you might even see the sun!) ... traffic isn't a problem out of london (and other cities) and away from the tourist routes. Try and get over before the schools break up - Scotland is always a good bet for views rivalling New Zealand (almost as many sheep too so you won't get lonely ).
Also, France is just a ferry (or a train ride) away and one thing they do have is lots of space and good riding (not a bad line in cheese and wine too) ...
If you are heading over let us know and we'll suggest a route ... BockingBandit (Geoff) gets around a bit (so he says) ... I also have a handy route (from the Moto GB Challange) if you fancy a, er, challenge!
I was fortunate to be able to visit the UK in 1995 and had a bit of a dingos breakfast. Fantastic scenery and hisorical sites every couple of miles so much so that you easily overdose on it all. Would like to come over for a couple of bike rides to crown off a good life.
Some English history with Mum hailing from Worthing in Surry? and my partner from Crowthorne in Bucks. As you probably guess there is no shortage of advice about the inferiority of the Antipodians compared with the Brits (is the Grauniad really the only newspaper in the world??) However, I was at the Rugby League last Saturday night at Lang Park (33-10 thanks very much) and we are thinking of ways to slip something into the Pom's water prior to the Ashes kicking off this Thursday at the Gabba here in Brissy.
If anyone can flick me the Web addresses for the 90's parts sites I would be very grateful.
Also, when I work out how to use this site, I'll post a pic of the restored 90s for those who might be interested.
