Sport Integral Helmet

Post by nab 301 »

Bought one of these last year . I find it great aerodynamically  (no buffeting ) However in wet weather I find water clings to the outside of the visor and no matter what way i turn my head it rarely clears . The problem is the same regardless of the bike I'm riding. Never have the problem with Shoei (xr900 or 1000). I always use autoglym polish on the outside of the visor but it doesn't help on this helmet .
Is it just me? :(

We both have the same helmet but have no problems. Never put anything onto the visor.

I have the same hat. It's been so long since it rained that I can't remember! I do so love this global warming. :P
Does the water cling at high speed? I was going to suggest that maybe your height puts the visor in a point behind the screen where the air is stagnant, but other helmets are fine. Mmmm, this is getting too testicle for me now. Sorry, can't help ......... time for beer...... :)

Thanks for the replies but the visor is unmarked.
We've had a lot of rain lately and the shoei is fine but no go with the sport integral :( . I'll keep it as a (dry) use summer helmet ....... :)

Nigel,

Not noticed a problem on the SportIntegrale, but I started off using Rain-Ex on my Arai, but didn't find it as effective as on the car.

Next, I tried Zymol polish, (prob the same as most other polishes) and this was an improvement over the Rain-Ex.

I am told that Autoglym Extra Gloss is brilliant, (as it is on car paintwork) but I haven't tried it. It smells so strong - I wondered if it would make the visor opaque?

Try it on an old visor, or right in the corner?

Currently use instant bike shine because it's recommended for screens and plastics and works on everything except the integral.......thanks Al might give it a try

Bought one the other week £70 new at Williams in Manchester. It's my second one now, the first being when I bought the bike. £30 more than the cost of a new visor, bargain I say.

Sport Integrale Carbon for £350.

(Bit of an indulgance, but a great saving :D )
