If you come to Scotland, don't leave it in your pocket as failure to display will get you a £30 or is it £60 ticket (can't remember which) from the nasty boy's in blue.

Tis the same in England, but I've never been ticketed after hauling it out from under the seat

Chris,
I always kept mine in my leathers before moving to Scotland.
Lloyd,
They will just slap the ticket on your screen.

You must mean the traffic warden type of ticket producer
...I was meaning the proper sort of Traffic Policeman has never ticketed me.

Off the threaded holes on the back of the lhs pillion peg hanger. What are those holes for anyway, it doesn't look like the pannier rails use them?

Hah, I got all youse guys beat. For the 'S' I've tossed out the whole shootin match...tax disk, registration (well, the frame plate is still there). Of course, it's only good for the track now...
But for the GS, the tax tag is under the seat with the owners manual (believe it or not, this was suggested by a copper I went riding with one day.)
If enough is enough and more is better than too much should be just about right.
