Calling Stoney

Postby boxerscott » Wed Jun 17, 2020 8:37 pm

Hey up Andy , A run this weekend and a meet at Kielder sounds a plan weather permitting, Blackal (can I still call him that?) is agreeable too, Sat is my preference as I am on call Saturday evening and may be a bit fluffy for Sunday but I am sure i could reign myself in a wee bit if Sunday is your preference? I dunno if anyone else local might join. I do know of a bog roll courier local , a serial crasher who ducks and dives in Haydon Bridge and another Eborian living up this way. I think they all may benefit with some breeze

I’d pencilled a bicycle ride Saturday, but this does sound a great plan and I’m well up for it!! Any thoughts on a plan?

If Nicola says we can travel further afield I won't be able to do this weekend, typical !

Its Carolyn's b'day on Wednesday and back in January I booked us a hire VW camper, proper old skool, air cooled, for this weekend as a surprise to nip away for a couple of nights wild camping. Lets see what Nicola says in her daily briefing today and go from there
"02 Yamaha XJR 1300SP in Kenny Roberts Yellow - (bought new)
"18 BMW S1000R Sports - (bought new)

Is Nicola likely to say you can camp overnight from this weekend? Tempted to slam a tent on the back of the bike if she does.

Like you John, I am really concerned about Nicolas travel restrictions.

Andy, What time can you reasonably rendezvous at Tower Knowe facility Kielder? I suggest we take it from there.

Hi Chris. Well that’s 130 miles from home for me. Would you consider meeting further south and making a ride from there?

Weather maybe better Saturday...

What about somewhere on the A68, say Carterway Heads, then to Blanchland via Edmundbyers
To Hexham past Slaley
Fill up if want
Then to Chollerford - Wark - Bellingham - Kielder Castle.
***
Back down to Tower Knowe if want.
To Lanehead then towards Greenhaugh turning right to B6320
To A68
Scottish residents can then gae te ower the Bar, others gan yaem doon the 68..

or at *** carry on to Saughtree, to Cleuch Head
then 6088 to Chesters (Scotland) to A68 Carter Bar

I’d go for that! I’d happily be there for 9.30am.

OK..
10am at Country Manor Motel. If car park is closed off, then Manor House Inn opposite..
It's about 400yds from the A68 - B6278 junction.

I’ll be there. Are we bringing our own sarnies or planning on grabbing something out!?
