Contemplating a Change of Car
So Carolyn and myself have been discussing about selling both our cars and getting one to do everything. For Carolyn to commute 6 miles in 20 & 30 mph limits through Edinburgh and for everything else including some spirited driving at weekends. We've talked about electric, Hybrid and Petrol cars, discounting diesel altogether but I've always promised myself a V8 before they are banned or petrol runs out and now might be the time. Keep Carolyn's petrol Focus for now, sell my car and buy an American Muscle Car or an American Hot Rod, got a soft spot for them, I just have to convince Carolyn and maybe sell a bike to help with relations
Any thoughts guys ?

There seem to be lots of newish V8 Mustangs on auto trader at around the £25k mark. Also a couple of Aston Martin Vanquish's, at a similar purchase price, if your glass half full outlook extends to predicting future maintainance costs too.
Good luck choosing and let us know how you get on.
Cheers,
Paul

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

You'll hate a milkfloat John.
Go for the full fat V8 on full noise - some AMG Mercs and Jag F type R's also going for decent prices now.
Plenty of time to have an EV when we don't get any choice in the matter.

I think you're right John but staying open minded and will be a good excuse to have a test drive

Re: Contemplating a Change of Car
There are a few Teslas appearing around Shrewsbury I have noticed recently.
But the 3 I've seen pulling off driveways are always in the posh (expensive) parts of town - and usually there are about 3 other cars parked on the drive.
So its still a rich person's choice at the moment.
Keep us posted if you have a test drive.

Re: Contemplating a Change of Car
my two pennarth ……. it's a flawed cul de sac..... perhaps I'm being thick or naïve, but I struggle to see in the time frames quoted how we can achieve the required results.
Personally I think hydrogen would be a more viable solution. Easier to convert existing tech to hydrogen, and it's only water that comes from the exhaust.

Re: Contemplating a Change of Car
Do you know anyone who can build a conservatory on the house and put the extra bikes in there?
