Hi All,
As part of the program of getting Alans bike back on the road his front wheel needed straightening after hitting a pothole some years ago (its been off the road for the best part of 4yrs) Took said wheel up to Ron Thersby in Stockton on Tees this morning and left it with him whilst we went for a coffee, 90 mins and £60 later one straight wheel. (Motorworks want £260 for a s/h wheel if they have one) Brilliant service for a reasonable price--Well recommended.
Someone is now like a kid before Xmas----"I'm getting my bike back on the road" MOT next Fri and we'll take it from there.
Regards Peter.
He had some wheels from the Honda UK BSB bikes @ over £2000 each which I thought would only be fit for the scrap bin but no he would be able to straighten them, If its good enough for Honda then that will do for me.

We can remember Alan saying all he wanted to do was ride his bike again, it may have taken a little longer than anticipated but it looks like that "dream" is coming true. Good luck with the mot and the 1st ride out, watch out for the gravel
Phil.

Nice work Peter. Looking forward to hearing that Alan's back on the road on two wheels as well as four.
Cheers,

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
Re: Cast Wheel Repairs.
Alans bike passed its MOT today having covered just over 100 miles in the last 4 yrs!! Kit all dragged out from the back of the wardrobe, Helmet cleaned and ready for a rideout tomorrow. It may have been a long time coming but the moral is Never Give Up.
Thanks to all for your support and kind words over the last few years,
Peter & Alan.

Currently sat in Hawes this evening after a pleasant ride up this morning, I would never have known that Alan hasn't ridden for so long so all is looking good.
