N York Moors...

Postby Gromit » Mon Aug 21, 2017 8:36 pm

...and the odd steam loco too.

As a family, for many years we've made the relatively short trip from Lincs up to the N York Moors for our summer holidays. We love the place.

Out on a walk along part of the Cleveland Way. This particular stretch begins at Clay Bank Top which is on the B1257. That number will be very familiar to biking folk:

These boots have carried me over many hundreds of miles over the years, this spot being a destination high on the 'happy place' list:

On the old 'Rail Trail' from Goathland to Grosmont - a pleasant 4 mile stroll through some beautiful woodland:

Great station shots.

Thanks chaps. :)

We fell in love with the NYM's back in 1999 when Mrs Gromit and I did the Coast-2-Coast walk - an area which previously we'd only explored very briefly. Must have had at least 10 summer holidays there now (with and without bairns) and will always be back for more. A part of this country which one never tires of.
