Lakeland

Postby Gromit » Sun Jun 25, 2017 10:05 am

Grabbed a few days in the Lakes during the recent half-term break. Having fallen in love with the Lake District over 30 years ago, we try to visit as often as possible. I've been very lucky to have travelled to many wonderful places in the this world, but they still don't - for me - get near to the serene beauty of the Lakeland mountains. Medicine for both body and soul.

Cracking pics as usual Richard, we try to get up every year to see friends, Borrowdale is one of our favourite areas, love the walk from Seatoller village towards Derwentwater.

Thanks Al.

The photo of misty Borrowdale was from travelling back from a tour of the Honister Slate Mine. The weather was pretty miserable on that day, but driving back to Ambleside this view opened up so was just too good to miss. The shots from Haystacks were taken on the sunday where our Emma (aged 6) bagged her first Lakeland Fell.

I don't visit this page nearly often enough (what gems have I missed?). What brilliant photographs. I especially like the misty one, really atmospheric. But they're all great. Thanks for sharing.
